Samson Nacua, brother of Los Angeles Rams receiver Puka Nacua, was arrested over the weekend for allegedly taking without consent an SUV belonging to Los Angeles Lakers forward Adou Thiero.

NBC Sports Los Angeles reported the news on Thursday and provided more details about the alleged theft. According to the news station, Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies were called to the One Hotel in West Hollywood where the SUV had been tracked. Authorities reviewed the security footage and identified 27-year-old Trey Rose and 27-year-old Samson Nacua, who had valeted the SUV.
Both men were arrested on a charge of taking a vehicle without the owner's consent. According to NBC Sports Los Angeles, law enforcement indicated it was unclear when or where the SUV had been taken. The news station also said that both men remained behind bars as of Thursday morning.
Nacua spent his college years playing for Utah (2017-2020) and BYU (2021). Like his brother, he lined up as a receiver. He ended his college career with 103 receptions for 1,344 yards and 14 touchdowns.
Nacua went undrafted in 2022, but he spent time on the preseason rosters of the Indianapolis Colts and New Orleans Saints. He also spent the 2023 season with the Pittsburgh Maulers of the USFL (United States Football League) and the last two seasons (2024 and 2025) with the Michigan Panthers of the UFL (United Football League).
Nacua missed one game last season due to a suspension from the UFL. Video showed him in an altercation with a fan, which included a slap. As part of the suspension, The young receiver had to participate in community service events as determined by the UFL.
Nacua caught 11 passes for 125 yards during the 2024 season. He added another nine receptions for 121 yards and two touchdowns during the 2025 season. He also returned two kicks for 35 yards while appearing in nine games.
