The Associated Press broke the news on Friday morning. According to writer Jenna Fryer, this is an extension adding onto Palou's current deal that runs through the 2027 season. The championship-winning team does not disclose financial details of these deals.

Palou has become a dominant driver in the open wheel racing series since joining Chip Ganassi Racing back in 2021. He won three races during his first year with the team, as well as the championship. He has since gone on to win 19 more races and three more championships.

The 2023, 2024, and 2025 seasons showcased Palou's abilities behind the wheel. He won five races in 2023 while posting an average finish of 3.7. He finished on the podium in 10 of the 17 races before winning the championship.

Palou only won twice in 2024, but he finished fifth or better in 13 of the 17 events. He won his third championship and his second in a row.

Last season, Palou and the No. 10 team took the performance to another level. They celebrated eight wins. They also won the biggest race in the series, the Indianapolis 500. They ended the year as champions yet again.

The Chip Ganassi Racing driver has matched racing legends Mario Andretti, Sebastien Bourdais, and Dario Franchitti by winning four IndyCar titles.

Palou is back atop the championship standings as he inks this multi-year extension. He has won three of the first five races this season. He also finished on the podium in the inaugural Arlington Grand Prix.

Now, he will spend the month of May trying to take care of another important piece of business. He will try to win the Indianapolis 500 for the second consecutive season, something that Team Penske driver Josef Newgarden achieved in 2023 and 2024.
