A strange sequence of events took place on Wednesday night during the Texas Rangers-New York Yankees tilt. The game feed switched to another sport.

The moment occurred in the bottom of the first inning. Fans watching the MLB game on Prime Video and MLB.TV watched their screens turn blue for a moment before live sports returned. However, they then saw the ESPN feed of the New York Knicks vs. the Philadelphia 76ers.
The odd moments did not end there. The feed stayed on the NBA game for a brief period of time before suddenly going to a commercial for Bank of America. The broadcast then returned to the Yankees vs. the Rangers, but only in video. The audio came from a Buffalo Sabres game.
So the Amazon Prime feed of Yankees Rangers randomly switched over to Knicks Sixers #NBAplayoffs two pitches into the bottom of the 1st??
Smash cut to a Bank of America ad, then quick cut back to the Bronx just as the Sabres find the back of the net??? Sound up at 1:09š pic.twitter.com/0AOuh2orFS— Dave Sachs šµ (@saviddachs) May 6, 2026
The Prime Video and MLB.TV feeds eventually returned to the correct game, but this surprising moment certainly created some confusion among sports fans.
Sure, sports fans want the opportunity to watch multiple games at one time, but they want the power to control the feeds. They don't want the production truck randomly switching between the NBA, MLB, and NHL.
Granted, some Yankees fans may have switched away from the game before its conclusion. This matchup against the Rangers did not play out well for the New York-based franchise and its fans. The Rangers secured a 6-1 win. Evan Carter and Corey Seager both delivered home runs during the blowout.

The series continued on Thursday with the Yankees getting some revenge. The New York team won 9-2 as Cody Bellinger enjoyed a day. He hit a triple in the first inning that sent Paul Goldschmidt home. Bellinger then scored in the sixth inning after a Trent Grisham double.
Bellinger also hit a single in the sixth inning that helped Goldschmidt score yet again. Bellinger then scored the final run of the game during the eighth inning after Ryan McMahon singled to center field.
