According to documents The California Post obtained, Leonard alleged his 25-year-old son has struggled with addiction for several years and has become "a danger" to both himself and family members.

"He has overdosed 4 times," Leonard wrote in a handwritten declaration included in the filing. "They had to bring him back to life 2 times at the hospital."

Leonard also claimed his son had stolen money and valuables from the family over an extended period of time.

The Hall of Fame boxer requested that Daniel remain at least 100 yards away from him, his wife Bernadette, daughter Camille and the family residence in Pacific Palisades.

According to the filing, tensions escalated May 19 when Leonard said he and his son were involved in a physical altercation at the home.

"We had a physical altercation where he pushed me and got ugly," Leonard wrote. "The police officers were needed at that moment."

Leonard said Daniel was escorted from the property by police.

Court records show Daniel Leonard was later arrested May 20 for allegedly violating a temporary restraining order after returning to the home. Jail records indicate he remained in custody until May 22.

A judge granted Sugar Ray Leonard's request for a temporary restraining order, which is scheduled to remain in effect until a June 15 hearing regarding a possible longer-term order.

Daniel also is scheduled to appear in court June 25 regarding the alleged restraining order violation.
