Gaughan, a Las Vegas native, will reunite with championship-winning team owner Bill McAnally. He will drive the No. 20 Chevrolet Silverado for McAnally-Hilgemann Racing during the first-ever Truck Series race on Naval Base Coronado.

Gaughan will have South Point Hotel and Casino as his primary sponsor for the Truck Series race. He will also have the logo for the U.S. Air Force Combat Control Team on his truck's bed lid. He is an honorary commander for the Combat Control Team.

This race on Friday, June 19th, will mark Gaughan's first Truck Series start since the 2013 season when he competed full-time and finished seventh in the championship standings. It will be his 218th start in the series.

This race will also mark a reunion for the veteran driver and the team owner. He previously competed full-time in the ARCA Menards Series West for McAnally in 2000 and 2001. He won eight races between the two seasons and captured consecutive championships.

The partnership also extended to the Truck Series. McAnally played a role in helping the Las Vegas native establish a Truck Series team in 2000.

McAnally's name left the team after the 2001 season, but his impact remained in 2002 as Gaughan won both races at Texas Motor Speedway. He added six more Truck Series wins 2003 as he finished fourth in the championship standings.

"This is so cool to come back and race in a truck again for Bill," Gaughan said in a press release. "We've got a ton of history together, tons of great memories, and this is going to be something we'll talk about for a long time.

"Ever since I heard the race at Coronado was going to happen, I knew I wanted to run something, and I'm just glad Bill and I were able to make this happen. This is a great chance for the NASCAR community to celebrate and recognize our military with a unique event, and I wanted to be a part of it."
