In the modern fast-paced world, the quick hit news stories on social media or on the television can affect how people view other countries. Those who have not traveled internationally may have some opinions built solely by outside sources.

This is true for Americans who have not visited other countries, and it is certainly true for Europeans who had not visited the United States before 2026.

"I need to apologise to America because I judged you on stereotypes," one person wrote on X. "This country is genuinely beautiful. The people are lovely, the roads are insane and everything feels bigger. I get the hype now."

This post is only one example among the multitudes across social media. Countless World Cup fans have taken in the sights, smells, sounds, and tastes of America. They have showcased their reactions, much to the delight of other social media users.

Many have talked about the landscape of the country and how different the respective states appear. Louisiana is quite unlike Missouri. Texas and Massachusetts have vastly different sights and sounds.

Others have highlighted the foods they have tried during the time abroad. The brisket sandwiches at Buc-ees, the menu items at Taco Bell, and the chicken tenders at Raising Cane's have all enjoyed time under the spotlight.

Other social media users have focused on the more local restaurants in small towns located away from the interstate.

One Scottish soccer fan, in particular, has just used his social media platform to highlight the massive cement mixers and other trucks roaming the American streets and highways.

"How can America be this awesome??? Someone pinch me I think I'm dreaming!!!" another person wrote while exploring the country.

"The more I travel America the more I realise they weren't lying when they said it was the land of the free," another person added.

"You can buy pretty much anything you want in all sizes (mainly large (winking emoji), there's freedom of speech and people seem to just get on with life without the government telling them what to do. I'm definitely jealous as a Brit."
