According to ESPN, Arnold turned himself in at Orient Road Jail in Hillsborough County on Wednesday. He faces four counts of kidnapping and four counts of armed robbery. This carries a potential punishment of life in prison. Arnold's first hearing will be on Thursday afternoon.
The charges stem from an incident that occurred shortly after midnight on Feb. 4. Police say that three men were pistol-whipped and robbed at gunpoint. The police say that Arnold is the primary conspirator. He is accused of directing and coordinating the co-defendants.
Investigators have said that they found a group chat in which Arnold and another individual gave directions to three co-defendants. This group chat is allegedly from the armed robbery.
The incident allegedly began with four people — including Arnold — reporting property loss totaling more than $250,000 in an AirBnb robbery. Arnold reportedly believed that two of the people involved in the kidnapping incident were involved in the robbery.
The police have already arrested six people involved in the incident — Arianna Del Valle, Jasmine Randazzo, Lyndell Hudson, Christion Williams, Boakai Hilton, and Freddie Lee Hughes III. Two of these co-defendants have pleaded guilty while the authorities are holding the other four without bond.
Denise White, CEO of EAG Sports Management, said in a statement that Arnold "categorically denies" any involvement in the allegations. White said that there is no credible evidence tying the Lions cornerback to the allegations.
"Mr. Arnold looks forward to his day in court and is confident that the judicial process will lead to his ultimate vindication," White said.
A first-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, Arnold has spent two seasons with the Lions. He has started 22 games while tallying one interception, 18 passes defensed, and 91 combined tackles. He missed nine games last season due to a shoulder injury.
