New England Patriots special teams coordinator Jeremy Springer revealed on Tuesday that he had proposed to girlfriend Kayla Burton, an on-air personality for NBC Sports Boston.

He made the announcement with a post on Instagram showing him down on one knee at the beach. Burton covered her mouth with her hands while looking down at Springer.

This proposal took place during a trip to San Diego, California, just after Burton's 31st birthday. Burton provided more information with a comment listing June 19 as the date. She also wrote, "yes in every lifetime."

The happy couple went public with their relationship back in 2024, the same year that they both went through some career changes.

Burton moved from working as a sideline reporter for ESPN to joining NBC Sports Boston. Springer had spent the 2022 and 2023 seasons working as a special teams assistant for the Los Angeles Rams, but he packed up and headed to the East Coast.

The former University of Texas at El Paso linebacker joined the Patriots in 2024 as the special teams coordinator. He helped the team achieve a turnaround in multiple ways.

This included cornerback Marcus Jones ending 2024 second in the league with a 14.8-yard punt return average. Safety Brenden Schooler also earned First-Team All-Pro honors for his work on special teams, which included a blocked punt. He also locked up a trip to the Pro Bowl.

Last season, the Patriots delivered a standout season. The team went 14-3 and won the AFC to reach Super Bowl 60. The team lost to the Seahawks but still ended the year with one kick return touchdown and two punt return touchdowns.

The Patriots will aim to continue this success in 2026-27. Meanwhile, Springer and Burton will also prepare for their upcoming wedding.
