MLB rookie Joshua Baez delivered a stunning performance during his debut on Saturday as he hit multiple home runs.

The St. Louis Cardinals prospect made history on Saturday. He became the first player in history to hit three home runs in his first at-bat appearances, and he helped propel his team to an 8-4 win over the Chicago Cubs.
And for good measure, he delivered the historic performance in enemy territory. This game took place at Wrigley Field.
The first home run came when left-handed pitcher Matthew Boyd threw a 93.4-mph fastball. Baez connected and launched the ball approximately 449 feet for a two-run homer.
The second came against a changeup. Baez connected for a solo homer as he launched the ball 382 feet down the left field line. His record-setting third home run came during the sixth inning.

Once again, he took advantage Boyd's pitch, and he launched the ball down the left-side line. This historic hit traveled 368 feet.
The Cardinals prospect landed with the team as a second-round pick in the 2021 Draft. He had the goal of reaching the Majors within two years, but he did not make his debut until Aug. 15, 2026.
Some struggles delayed his progression, but he finally made his long-awaited debut. He maximized the opportunity fewer than 24 hours after learning that he would be called up from Triple-A Memphis, a team for which he has hit 34 home runs this season.

It was a special moment to suit up for the Cardinals and play left field, but it also led to some emotions. His father, Jose Manuel, passed away years ago and never had the opportunity to see Baez reach the Majors.
"My dad, his dream was to play in the big leagues," Baez said about making his debut. "The only promise that I made to him was that I was going to be able to do that for him.
"He's not here with us, but he's here in spirit, and I know he's so proud of me."
