Professional golfer Isabella Fierro has revealed that her season will end earlier than expected. She will undergo wrist surgery after battling through pain for a significant amount of time.

Fierro, who won multiple amateur golf championships before turning pro, announced the news on Instagram. She posted a photo of herself in a hospital bed with a brace on one of her arms.
"For almost a year, I've been playing and competing through wrist pain, always believing I could manage it, keep pushing, and find a way to be out there doing what I love most," Fierro wrote. "Through the good days and the difficult ones, every time I stepped onto the course, I tried to give everything I had.
"After many conversations with my doctors, my family, and my team, I've made the difficult decision to undergo wrist surgery with Dr. Alejandro Espinosa and give my body the time it needs to properly heal.
"Anyone who knows me knows how hard it is for me to stop. There were still so many things I wanted to accomplish this season, but sometimes taking care of yourself is part of the journey too. I know this is the right decision for my health, my career, and all the dreams I still have in this game."
Fierro continued and said that this season has tested her mentally and physically in ways that she didn't expect. However, she remains proud of how she dealt with this adversity.

Prior to undergoing surgery, Fierro delivered another win. She captured the Atlantic Beach Classic, which took place on March 5-7. Fierro ended the golf tournament at 13 under par after hitting 38 of the 39 fairways and breaking the 54-hole tournament record.
She beat runner-up Kaitlyn Papp Budde, Annabelle Pancake-Webb, and Maria Fassi by four strokes. The 25-year-old golfer achieved this after overcoming a one-stroke deficit entering the final day.
"My hands were just shaking, and I told my caddie, and he goes, 'This is what we practice for, right?' Like feeling the adrenaline, feeling the nerves, this is what an athlete practices for, and this is how you want to feel," Fierro said after the win.
"So, instead of avoiding that sensation, I just kind of let it pass, and man, it's just the best sensation ever."
Months after this record-setting win, Fierro had to step away from golf. She had to undergo surgery, which will force her to focus on the future and her recovery.
