One of the national NASCAR series will undergo a significant change in 2027 and beyond. The Craftsman Truck Series will have a new name.

According to a press release, Craftsman will exit the sport after the 2026 season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway. FedEx Freight will then take over as the entitlement sponsor in 2027 and beyond after the company signed a long-term deal.
The third-tier series will be the NASCAR FedEx Freight Truck Truck Series, or NFXFTS for short.
One important detail to note is that this is a separate company from the one that previously sponsored Denny Hamlin for decades. FedEx Freight is a wholly independent, publicly traded company.
2027 is set to deliver the perfect pairing.

The Truck Series has featured numerous sponsors over the decades. Craftsman held this role from 1995, the first year for NASCAR Trucks, until 2008.
Camping World then took over in 2009 and remained the sponsor through the end of the 2022 season. Though the company used its Gander Outdoors brand in 2019 and 2020.
Craftsman took over yet again in 2023, marking a return for the brand. It has remained the sponsor ever since but will exit yet again after this season.
"FedEx Freight choosing NASCAR for a brand investment of this magnitude says a lot about where our sport is today and the value our platform can deliver to businesses looking to grow," said Craig Stimmel, SVP and Chief Commercial Officer, NASCAR. "And there may not be a more natural pairing than FedEx Freight and the NASCAR Truck Series.
"This is a series built on trucks, toughness, and people who compete incredibly hard to deliver every single week. That same grit, reliability, and get-it-done mentality is embedded in FedEx Freight.
"As they continue to establish their identity as an independent company, we have an incredible opportunity to put that brand in front of millions of fans while creating real business value throughout the NASCAR industry."
