According to a Tuesday announcement, U2 will headline the Thanksgiving Eve halftime show on Nov. 25, 2026. This band, which celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2026, will perform after the Green Bay Packers and Los Angeles Rams head back to the locker rooms for halftime adjustments.
"There's a reason U2 has headlined stadiums for decades: they don't just perform, they deliver iconic moments audiences remember forever," said Ted Sarandos, co-CEO of Netflix.
"We're thrilled that they'll bring that same magic to the NFL stage on Netflix. It's going to be an unforgettable night for football fans and Netflix members worldwide."
This marks the second marquee NFL event at which U2 has performed. Way back on Feb. 3, 2002, the Irish band headed to New Orleans, Louisiana, for Super Bowl 36.
Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton, and Larry Mullen Jr. performed during halftime as the then-St. Louis Rams and New England Patriots battled for the Lombardi Trophy. The Patriots won 20-17.
U2's Super Bowl 36 set featured a rendition of Beautiful Day, MLK, and Where the Streets Have No Name. Bono replaced some of the lyrics in Where the Streets Have No Name as part of the unique performance.
More than 20 years later, U2 will now return to the NFL world while joining forces with Netflix. The rock band will play on Thanksgiving Eve while continuing a historic stretch of events for the streamer.
Netflix's season began with the first-ever NFL game played in Australia. This game featured the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams. The schedule then continues with Thanksgiving Eve's game between the Green Bay Packers and Los Angeles Rams.
The rest of the Netflix schedule includes a Christmas doubleheader. The first Dec. 25 game features Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Bears. The second game of the doubleheader features the Buffalo Bills and Denver Broncos.
Netflix's last NFL game this season will happen during the final week of the regular season. The league has not revealed the teams for this game.
