Jake Garcia, the driver of the No. 98 Ford F-150, suddenly spun in Turns 1 and 2 late in Friday's 50-minute session. He slammed into the wall and caused extensive damage to the truck. He said over the radio that he had lost brakes.

The initial expectation was that the crash would end practice for the Truck Series drivers. However, NASCAR added two minutes to the end of the session.
The No. 98 team headed back to the garage to begin prepping the backup truck for Friday night's race (6 p.m. ET on FS1) while the other teams began taking part in qualifying. This group included Garcia's teammate, Ben Rhodes, who led the way in five- and 10-lap average speed during practice.
This crash means that Garcia will start from the rear of the field at Martinsville Speedway as he seeks his second win of the season.
The Georgia native broke through for the first time at Bristol Motor Speedway after leading 104 laps. He celebrated for the first time in a national NASCAR series.
Martinsville Speedway is a track where Garcia does not have as much success. He has made five starts at The Paperclip while posting an average finish of 15.0. His best finish is third in last season's spring race.
Garcia will now try to deliver a better performance on Friday as he closes out his tenure with ThorSport Racing. He only has two more races with the team before he moves to a new opportunity.
Next season, Garcia will move to Front Row Motorsports. He will remain in the Ford Racing camp, but he will take over the No. 38 Ford. He will replace Chandler Smith, who heads to Richard Childress Racing and the O'Reilly Auto Parts Series. He will become teammates with Layne Riggs, who returns to the No. 34 Ford in 2027.
