"I think my car is good, but it'll be a totally different race car in the middle of the heat tomorrow," Briscoe said after winning the pole. "So yeah, I feel confident, though, that we'll be able to contend.
"I wouldn't sit here and say that I'm the dominant car, but I definitely felt like I was a top three car. So, yeah did our job there to start up front and get the number one pit stall and everything. So, looking forward to tomorrow."
Teammate Denny Hamlin, who enters the championship race needing to overcome a 70-point deficit, qualified second with a lap of 32.413 seconds. He ends the season with a large trophy, which he secured by leading the Cup Series with six pole wins.
The rest of the top 10 includes Tyler Reddick (32.437), championship favorite Kyle Larson (32.463), Austin Cindric (32.526), Christopher Bell (32.556), Chase Elliott (32.603), William Byron (32.610), Ryan Blaney (32.650), and Daniel Suarez (32.667).
Saturday's qualifying session marked the third time in the past four seasons that Toyota drivers locked out the top three spots in the Homestead-Miami Speedway lineup. The other two instances occurred in 2023 and 2024.
The Cup Series championship race at Homestead-Miami Speedway will take place on Sunday at 3 p.m. ET on NBC. Pre-race coverage will begin at 2 p.m. ET. Leigh Diffey, Steve Letarte, and Jeff Burton will provide coverage from the booth.
This race will feature three drivers in contention for the title. Larson needs nine points to clinch his third championship. Bell needs to overcome a 67-point deficit while Hamlin needs to make up 70 points.
