The Professional Bowlers Association announced the news and said that Pedersen died on Sept. 16. The PBA Tour did not provide a cause of death.
However, his daughter, Savannah, organized a GoFundMe campaign during Suicide Awareness Month to pay for End of Life arrangements. She added information about the suicide and crisis lifeline while saying that "even the brightest personalities can mask one's inner struggles."
"Randy was supremely talented in everything he did. Bowling, golf, comedy, broadcasting, anything. He was a force, a giant in sports and on TV," PBA Commissioner Tom Clark said in a statement.
"He was our friend, our partner. Randy was our voice. He was my brother. I spoke with so many people today who loved him. There will never be another Randy Pedersen. Please hug the people you love."
A champion. A voice. A legend.

A Florida resident, Pedersen competed in professional bowling for more than three decades. He delivered countless highlight-reel moments during his career while stacking up 13 PBA Tour titles. He also won the 1987 PBA National Championship and the 2013 PBA50 Tour title.
The Hall of Fame bowler added more skills to his resume in 2001 as he became a color analyst and the voice for the PBA. He kicked off a tenure that lasted a record 25 years, and he partnered with several different play-by-play voices while highlighting the top competitors on the tour.
The group of figures with whom Pedersen quickly built chemistry included Rob Stone, Dave Ryan, Mike Jakubowski, Lon McEachern, John Fanta, and Dave LaMont.
The longtime analyst's unique style built a large fanbase as viewers grew to appreciate his approach and catchphrases. Many loved to hear such comments as "That was filthier than a truck stop restroom" after an impressive strike.
