Mike Tyson Says He's Giving Up Weed, Women In Training For Jake Paul Bout

Give Mike Tyson credit. He is very serious about winning his made-for-Netflix fight with YouTuber/boxer Jake Paul.

How serious is Tyson? Serious enough that his giving up some of his favorite things.

"Two-and-a-half weeks I haven't smoked, I haven't had sex for two-and-a-half weeks," Tyson said on The Damon Elliott Show while discussing his training regimen.

This follows comments to Forbes, in which he said: "Probably six weeks I haven't gotten high or had sex."

Tyson has been married to his third wife since 2009. That's 15 years and counting. He suggested that not doing things you love is highly necessary when training.

"Discipline, doing what you hate to do but doing it like you love it," he told Forbes. "I hate not being able to smoke but I'm doing it like I love it. I hate not to be able to sleep with my wife and I'm doing it like I love it."

Per the New York Post:

"Clearly, Tyson doesn't think that abstinence during training is still for an 'idiot"'and he's hoping it will help him hand Paul just his second loss. Tyson is still the underdog in the fight, but bettors have been backing him and forced an odds shift."

Paul enters the fight at 9-1, his first being a stone-cold knockout of former NBA star Nate Robinson. Tyson is 50-6 lifetime with 44 knockouts to his name. But most came in the 1980s and '90s.

Tyson will be 58 years old when the fight takes place in July. And it will indeed be available for all to see on Netflix.
