While the Texas A&M men's basketball team was busy beating Missouri to end their three-game skid, the Texas A&M women's basketball team had their seven-game winning streak broken in a tough loss to the Tigers in overtime, 70-65.

Sophomore guard Chennedy Carter started out pretty good early on, and had a typical Carter like night with 29 points, four rebounds, and four assists — her sixth-straight game scoring at least 20 points — but she needed to hit a few more to help keep the Aggies' streak alive on the road at Mizzou Arena.
SPLASH 👌@ChennedyCarter with 16 and counting in the 1st half 👀

Texas A&M got some solid contributions from Carter's supporting cast, too. Kayla Wells scored 18 points, Ciera Johnson added 10, and N'dea Jones chipped in six points and a team-high 12 rebounds.
However, everyone knows that Carter is the engine that makes this team go, and in most cases, the Aggies live and die by her shooting. Unfortunately against the Tigers, Carter went ice cold at the end of the game, missing 11 shots in a row. Perhaps it was fatigue or not getting the bounces on the rims, but the rhythm of the offense was off at the end of the game and the Aggies never recovered.
Just call them the D-Town Duo 🔥@ChennedyCarter & @kaylawells101 came to ball today 👀

It appeared the fast-paced third quarter, where the Aggies outscored the Tigers 20-11, took the wind out of the sails of the Aggie offense and their legs were tired. They only scored nine points in the fourth quarter and a paltry four points in overtime. Coach Gary Blair has to find a way to save Carter's legs by slowing down the pace a little and moving Carter off of the toughest covers every game.
If she's the closer, she needs to have some gas to go the last mile.
Texas A&M needs to rebound from this loss as soon as possible because they have some big games coming up. The Aggies are now 18-5 overall and 7-3 in SEC play. They get to return home to host LSU in the annual BTHO Breast Cancer game on Thursday, February 14. Hopefully Carter and company can get their legs back under them and avenge their loss against the other Tigers. There is no way Carter misses 11 in a row again. She's too talented.
Then right after that, they have their hardest game of the season against No 5 Mississippi State. If the Aggies have any hope on catching the Bulldogs, who are currently 22-1, they have to win these next two games because the rest of the Aggies' schedule is definitely winnable.
