Duke bestowed an honor on Grayson Allen that hasn't been done for a decade

Who would have thought?

Grayson Allen has done a lot to make people despise him outside of the Duke program. He's tripped a few people over his time in the ACC and he's been a bit immature at times. However, the team and the coaches seem to be over it as they have named him the lone captain for this season.

The Chronicle has noted that this is the first time since 2007-08 that Duke has only had one captain. That season it was DeMarcus Nelson. It makes sense that Allen should be the captain though as he's the lone senior and only guy on the roster who's seen significant minutes in college.

He was a huge part of the 2015 national title team and broke out his sophomore season, scoring 21.6 points a game. He looks to get his stats and his reputation in line this year as Duke has some outstanding freshmen and sophomore who can help the team seriously compete for a Final Four berth.
