The attorney for Aden Holloway, Jason Neff, filed legal documents saying that the basketball player "denies each and every material allegation" from the prosecution. These documents also called for strict proof and requested a legal trial.

Authorities arrested Holloway on March 16 and charged him with two felonies — first-degree possession of marijuana and failure to affix a tax stamp — before releasing him shortly after on a $5,000 bond.

Initial reports stated that the West Alabama narcotics task force found more than a pound of marijuana, paraphernalia, and cash in Holloway's residence. Holloway reportedly told the authorities that he had received the drugs from someone out of town and that he only smokes.

According to TMZ, authorities claim that they found 2.1 pounds of marijuana throughout the residence. They say it was packaged in a way to suggest distribution. The outlet also reports that investigators allegedly found messages on Holloway's phone referencing upcoming meetings.

Holloway will have an initial hearing regarding the case on April 14. For now, he will continue to miss time after being suspended from team activities by the University of Alabama.

Holloway last played on March 13 as his team faced off with Ole Miss. The Crimson Tide lost 80-79 as Holloway posted 18 points with one assist.

The Crimson Tide are currently in the midst of the NCAA Tournament. The team defeated Hofstra in the first round of the Midwest Regional 90-70. They then defeated Texas Tech in the second round by a score of 90-65.

The next game on the Alabama schedule will take place on Friday against Michigan. This battle will be a part of the Sweet 16 and will provide one team with a chance to move on to the Elite Eight.
