ESPN's Booger McFarland still believes Clemson is the "most complete team" in college football, even after losing All-ACC kicker Greg Huegel.
"When you look at Clemson overall, they're the most complete football team in America," McFarland said during an appearance on The 6. "They're playing the best football in the country. We didn't think we were going to say that at the beginning of the season. Deshaun Watson leaves, what's Kelly Bryant going to be like? Well guys, Kelly Bryant has been amazing. You couple that with the best defensive line in college football, they've got four guys upfront who I think are going to go in the top-2 rounds [of the NFL Draft]. I think that combination of Kelly Bryant on offense, that defensive line with that defense, they're the most complete team."
Huegel, a former Groza Award semifinalist and two-time All-ACC kicker, will miss the remainder of the 2017 season after tearing an ACL during a field goal attempt late in practice on Wednesday.
"It was a freak accident," coach Dabo Swinney told ESPN. "We were in the two-minute drill, which we do at the end of every Wednesday practice. A defensive player rolled into him after his kick."
Huegel was a crucial part of Clemson's national championship run last season and was off to another strong start in 2017, booting two field goals during last week's win over Louisville, including a career-long 49-yarder.
He is expected be replaced by junior Alex Spence, who had six kickoffs last season and has one successful PAT attempt for his career.
Clemson will host Boston College at home on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. EST.
