Florida State Is Losing a Running Back to the Transfer Portal

Florida State running back Rodney Hill has announced he will be entering the transfer portal and leaving the program, but alongside the announcement was one tweet he sent to his mom that's causing some questions.

The tweet about him transferring states: "I wanna thank my coaches and FSU for bringing me in,Much love to all my teammates and to the strength staff and trainers that have worked with me while I been here but I will be entering the transfer portal."

In response to this, his mom, Sharon Hill, wrote in a new deleted tweet, "Proud of you son!"

In response to that tweet, Hill wrote in another now-deleted tweet, "God Got us ma, one man's trash another man's treasure! ain't bout no money, but I won't take disrespect especially if u think u can talk to my parents krazy I'm not going for it. They'll get it all back."

This season, Hill had 50 carries for 190 yards, and one touchdown. He averaged 3.8 yards per carry. Prior to attending Florida State, Hill was a 3-star recruit coming out of Georgia.

In his tweet to his mom, Hill mentions "one man's trash another man's treasure," which could have to do with his lack of playing time. Then, he adds, "I won't take disrespect especially if u think u can talk to my parents krazy..."

That's where it gets interesting because in his transfer portal announcement tweet, Hill thanks his teammates, coach, and other staff members.

Well, fans on X picked up on this tweet and provided their thoughts.

"One man's trash?? This is deeper than we know. I was excited about Rodney next year but I don't know behind the scenes. Good luck man," one user wrote.

"I enjoyed you delivering the hits as a running back, and I said we're winning the national title after LSU with you, 3 & 9. Who talked crazy to your parents? Fans? You thanked your coaches, so I assume not them. If fans, maybe they weren't fans," another wrote.

Now, we look to see where the 2026 NFL Draft eligible running back lands for 2024.
