Kalen DeBoer is not waiting around to let rumors breathe.

With Michigan's head coaching job suddenly open, the Alabama coach was quickly linked to the vacancy in coaching circles and betting markets. DeBoer moved to shut that down on Sunday.
In a statement, DeBoer said he has no interest in any job other than the one he currently holds, making clear that his focus remains on Alabama's upcoming College Football Playoff game against Oklahoma.
"I have not spoken and have no interest in speaking with anyone else about any other job," DeBoer said. "I am fully committed to this program and look forward to continuing as the head football coach at the University of Alabama."
DeBoer did not mention Michigan by name, but the timing left little doubt about the message. His name had been floated as a possible top target for the Wolverines, with some speculation suggesting pressure could mount if Alabama were to exit the playoff early.

Rather than let that storyline linger, DeBoer chose to address it head-on.
This is not the first time he has done so. DeBoer was also linked to the Penn State job earlier in his tenure and quickly dismissed that talk as well.
Results help make denials easier. In his first two seasons at Alabama, DeBoer has gone 19-7. Before that, he spent two years at Washington, posting a 25-3 record and leading the Huskies to national prominence.
Michigan, meanwhile, is searching for a new coach after firing Sherrone Moore on Wednesday. The school said Moore was dismissed after officials discovered an inappropriate relationship with a staff member, a development that sent the program scrambling for stability.
