Texas and Texas A&M have played 118 times since 1894, but the two rivals haven't met since 2011 when the Aggies left the Big 12 for the SEC.

The two schools did play in an exhibition basketball game at Rice University in Houston, and Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said his goal is to get the two schools to meet again on the gridiron in the near future.

"My next goal as governor is to reunite the Texas-Texas A&M football rivalry," Abbott told reporters before the basketball game.
Abbott, a Texas grad, also added a "Hook 'em Horns" at the end of his statement, which won't sit well with Aggie fans in the state.
Texas leads the all time series 76-37-5, and they won the last meeting in 2011. It doesn't seem like the two sides will be playing anytime soon unless they meet in a bowl game, but perhaps the governor can help the two sides work something out.
