Ohio State brings back former Buckeye staffer with latest hire

He's familiar with the program so that's a win.

Ohio State was in need of a cornerbacks coach after Kerry Coombs left to join Mike Vrabel in Tennessee. It would appear they have found their man in a familiar face.

Johnson was with the Buckeyes from 2007 to 2011 and is an Ohio native having played at Wittenburg University in the state. He was a two-time All-American and was the conference's Defensive Player of the Year twice as well. He has also coached for the Cleveland Browns, Miami of Ohio, Notre Dame, Purdue, Temple and Arkansas.

He was most recently with Temple as their defensive coordinator last season. He has mostly coached in the secondary and linebackers throughout his 23-year coaching career.
