Former starting Michigan quarterback Wilton Speight announced that he would be transferring from the school, but that has yet to come to fruition. The likelihood that he would return as a starter became smaller and smaller as Jim Harbaugh went out and recruited top notch quarterback Dylan McCaffrey and then eventually landed Ole Miss transfer Shea Patterson.

The reasoning for Speight's delay in his decision is reportedly due to the fact that he feels rushed into a decision. "He felt rushed to make a decision during the short amount of time between his graduation from Michigan last December and January enrollment, so he will enroll somewhere in June," reports the Detroit News.

The 6-foot-6 Speight was a three-star recruit in the class of 2014 and was the No. 15 recruit in Virginia as well as the No. 23 pro-style passer in the class according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. Speight finished his Michigan career with 3,192 passing yards, 22 passing touchdowns, 10 interceptions, one rushing touchdown and completed 58.8 percent of his passes.
His best year was 2016 when he threw for 2,538 yards to go with 18 touchdowns against seven interceptions in 12 games played. He also completed 61.6 percent of his passes that season.
