Butch Davis might be completely delusional about the job he just took

Does he understand it's FIU and not Miami?

Butch Davis is headed back to Miami, just not as the coach of the Hurricanes. Rather, he'll be taking over the FIU Golden Panthers and he is setting the expectations bar pretty high. In his introductory press conference he thinks that his Group of Five squad is comparable to some of the bigger heavy hitters out there.

Houston has a lot more talent than any of those teams he named and is light years ahead of FIU in that regard right now. Davis might have FIU competing in Conference USA soon with a team that is actually 3-3 in the conference this season, but to have the Panthers in a New Year's Day Bowl might be a stretch.
