"Nebraska is still one of my top schools," Brown said. "But at this time I feel it's best to reopen by recruiting."
That wasn't what caught people's eyes, though, as Brown is fresh off an offer from Ohio State earlier this week. The speculation began that Brown could be flipping there, so much so that Brown left a very pointed message about his decommit:
"Ohio State is not the reason... just to let everyone know"
Despite June feeling like a dead period for college football, it's actually a very critical month for recruiting. Several athletes have time for unofficial visits and camps, and many are already beginning to set up for official visits during the upcoming season. With all that still left to come, it looks like Brown wanted to reopen his recruitment and explore all of his options.
