Former Florida State linebacker Kain Daub has found a new school

Looks like it's official.

Lane Kiffin isn't exactly shy when it comes to inventing new ways to attract talent to wherever he may be. At this point, Kiffin is the head coach at FAU and, with that as the backdrop, he has already improved the roster through recruiting and the luring of transfers.

Now, Kiffin is making another impact in the form of bringing FAU a former top-flight prospect from Florida State, as Bruce Feldman of Sports Illustrated brings word that Kain Daub has surfaced with the Owls. Daub spent the 2016 season at ASA College in New York but, prior to that, the talented defender enrolled in Tallahassee after a big-time recruiting battle that included Alabama.

The 6'4, 250-pound linebacker made seven tackles for loss at his last stop and he is reportedly set to gain immediate eligibility at FAU. Daub was once a five-star prospect, at least in some circles, and if there is any part of that star-level hype remaining, this is a big pickup for Kiffin and company.

It remains to be seen as to just how good Daub and the Owls will be this season but his head coach is making waves in the way that only Lane Kiffin can at this point.
