Kyler McMichael is a tremendous prospect and he hails from the Atlanta area as a student at Greater Atlanta Christian School. As any recruiting die-hard knows, Atlanta is a hot-bed for high-end recruits that populate the best programs in college football and many of them end up at ACC and SEC schools given proximity.
On Wednesday evening, McMichael fed into that in a big way, announcing his top six finalists that all represent either the ACC or SEC.
Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida State, Georgia, and Tennessee comprise the top six for the 6-foot-0.5, 196-pound prospect and there are no surprises among the bunch. This was thought to be the sextet of programs sitting in the best position to land the four-star prospect and it will be a very interesting battle from this point forward.
All indications are that McMichael is being largely evaluated as a cornerback, which makes sense given his athletic burst and relative size. With that said, he has excelled offensively at the high school level, leaving plenty of room for a position change in the future if player and/or program desire.
Having some of the best programs in the country in the mix makes for a recruiting process that will be must-see TV and McMichael will be a big prize for one of these programs from the Southeast.
