One of the top young men is four-star quarterback Jayden Bradford. He chose the Liberty Flames in early July.
Meet the No. 1 QB Recruit in G5: SMU Has Nation's Top Signal-Calling Recruit
Liberty is dominating the Conference USA recruiting rankings, placing seven of their commitments on the FanBuzz Top 15 list for C-USA. The Flames boast the top three, but the gem is clearly Bradford, whom the recruiting services dropped to a three-star prospect after previously having him as a Top 100 overall, high-end four-star national prospect prior to him picking a Group of Five school instead of Power Five.
Bradford stands No. 2 in the FanBuzz G5 national quarterback rankings for current commitments.
Bradford told FanBuzz that even though he had Power Five options (11 to be exact), Liberty was the perfect fit in his eyes. The South Carolina native is currently enrolled at the prestigious IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, and he has a lot of faith in first-year Liberty coach Jamey Chadwell.
"I'm obviously going in with high expectations and standards for myself," Bradford told FanBuzz. "And with how well the staff has been doing with recruiting, the sky's the limit. With the expansion of the 12-team playoff, I know that the staff, players, and recruits intend on being one of those 12 teams in the near future."
So what does Bradford bring to the table?
"I'm a good quarterback for my competitive nature, and coaches really like my mental game and how I process things on the field," Bradford told FanBuzz. "I'm very good at pre-snap reads and can control a game with my knowledge and calm demeanor. I can't wait to play at Liberty because of what the future has in store with just going into a new conference and the 12-team playoff coming in 2024. I believe that I can take Liberty to the highest level of college football.
"What really stood out to me about Liberty was the chance to build something special and do something that's never been done (there) before. The coaches and the facilities were as good as any P5 I've been to, if not better."
Bradford also held Power Five offers from Virginia Tech, Syracuse, Penn State, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Missouri and North Carolina State, just to name a few.
