Following the latest recruiting rankings update over at 247Sports, there is a new No. 1 recruit in the country, and you are probably very familiar with him: five-star quarterback Justin Fields has taken the No. 1 spot.

Fields (6-foot-3, 221 pounds, Kennesaw, Ga.) has gained a lot of publicity lately after he decommitted from Penn State. While the Nittany Lions are still expected to be a factor in his recruitment, there has been a lot of focus on teams like Georgia, Florida State, and Alabama recently.
Fields takes the No. 1 spot from another quarterback, Clemson commit Trevor Lawrence. Lawrence had been the No. 1 recruit ever since 247Sports released their player rankings for the 2018 class. Lawrence and another Clemson commit, five-star defensive end Xavier Thomas, are the top two players chasing Fields in the rankings.
