Four-star CB K.J. Wallace commits to national power

Now that's a commitment.

Cornerback K.J. Wallace, a four-star prospect out of the 2019 recruiting class, has committed to play for Brian Kelly and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

Wallace announced his commitment to Blue and Gold Illustrated on Sunday.

"Actually on the plane right back, I had a dream," Wallace told Blue & Gold Illustrated. "It was my little sister and for whatever reason I could see her when she was really little and she was telling me to go ... That was the tipping point for me. It was weird. I don't know. I just knew I needed to do it.

"They're going to give you the tools necessary to have a successful life with and without football. It's all up to you to take advantage of the resources all over the place. It's a great university."

This is good news for the Fighting Irish, a program that dismissed four players from the team this offseason and will be adjusting to a new defensive system for at least next season.

ESPN has Wallace not only ranked as a four-star caliber talent, but as the 122nd best prospect in all of the 2019 recruiting class.

He chose the Irish over offers from Auburn, Georgia Tech, Penn State, and a bunch of other quality programs.
