Kirk Herbstreit says one team is 'pushing' to be No. 1 team over Alabama

Oh?

Kirk Herbstreit already named his top four teams after Week 2 and he was bound to get some criticism for it as the internet is wont to do. Sometimes he responds to the questions and he did so on Monday after a fan asked him why Clemson wasn't No. 2 over Oklahoma:

Here was his answer:

Whoa there, Herbie! Not only does he like Oklahoma as the No. 2 team, but he thinks they are "pushing" Alabama for the top spot. They do have an impressive away from home against then-No. 2 Ohio State, but they also played UTEP the week before unlike Alabama who played then-No. 3 FSU at a neutral site.

There is plenty of time for either team to survive a close call or even fall in an upset, but if Oklahoma keeps winning like that then it's going to be hard for Herbstreit to keep the Sooners at the second spot in his rankings.
