J.J. Peterson is the No. 1 outside linebacker in the class of 2018 according to 247Sports and has had Alabama as his leader for quite some time. However, Auburn had recently been making a case as a close No. 2, but it sounds like he has two other schools closing the gap with the Tigers as well.

He told 247Sports that two other schools —- one in the SEC and a traditional west coast power —- are in good shape as well.
"It's Auburn, Oregon and Georgia," he said. It sounds like the Tigers may still have the edge over the other two though as the Georgia native has visited them three times this year. He's also mentioned that he has a strong relationship with linebackers coach Travis Williams.
Peterson went on to say that Auburn is likely to get a visit from him as well as Alabama, Michigan and Oregon as likely visit candidates. He also said Georgia could be in line for one as well.
The 6-foot-2, 210-pound linebacker is also ranked as the No. 7 recruit in the state of Georgia and No. 37 recruit overall according to the 247Sports composite. He also holds offers from Clemson, Florida and South Carolina among others.
