Nick Saban just gave the utmost compliment to one of his biggest opponents

That's about as good as it gets.

Nick Saban isn't one to just hand out free compliments, so this bodes generally bodes well.

In his interview at SEC media days, Saban responded to a question about Week 1 opponent Florida State by saying that the Seminoles were "built like an SEC team, built like our team."

Having won their fair share of titles in the past, Florida State probably isn't too flattered by the SEC comments. However, comparing the Seminoles directly to how Saban sees his own team? That's a pretty big compliment considering that the Crimson Tide have been college football's top school for almost a decade now.

Alabama and Florida State are set to face off in Week 1 in the new Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta. The matchup could end up being No. 1 vs. No. 2, and at worst it will likely be a matchup between Top 5 teams. Saban rightfully has a lot of respect for his opponent, and that respect is probably reciprocated by Jimbo Fisher and Florida State.
