Deion Sanders Is Dealing With Fake Transfer Offers

The Colorado Buffaloes are hard at work to overhaul their offensive, more particularly, their offensive line, via the transfer portal, but it appears that one player, Amari Ward, might not be with the team after all.

Ward originally signed on with Jackson State as part of the class of 2022 when Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders was there. However, in 2022, Ward didn't see any playing time. On December 4, Ward committed to Colorado, but now, that could be in doubt after Andrew Zimmer, an assistant coach for Colorado, provided insight into the situation on X.

It started with a graphic posted by On3 with the caption, "Deion Sanders & Colorado wasted NO TIME rebuilding the offensive line."

Well, here's where it takes a turn.

According to Zimmer, in a tweet that's now been taken down, he said, "Amari Ward is not coming to CU as a recruit. No one on our staff has talked to him. In fact, this is the second year he has posted a fake offer from us."

It appears Ward "committed" to Colorado but didn't get an offer.

There are also reports that Ward tried to transfer to Colorado in June but couldn't due to poor academic standing.

When he was denied admission, Ward spent time at home in Florida because he said he feared for his safety while at Jackson State, citing an incident where he saw "piles of BLOOD all over the floor all over the bed, carpet..." he wrote on Instagram.

So now, it's unclear what the future holds for Ward after two "fake" offers, as Zimmer put it, were posted, and he was denied admission due to poor academics.

Either way, the Buffaloes will continue to work the transfer portal until the 2024 season.
