USC officially flips four-star ILB from rival Pac-12 power

This is a flip Clay Helton is going to love.

Four-star inside linebacker Eli'jah Winston had been committed to Oregon since November, but it looks like USC has flipped the young man to the Trojan side. He made the announcement via his Twitter as many recruits enjoy doing nowadays.

Winston is a 6-foot-3, 232-pound linebacker out of Oregon so him not sticking with the Ducks is a bit of a surprise. However, the loss of Willie Taggart to Florida State was probably the catalyst for the move. The Trojans got in pretty late as they offered him during the early signing period and landed a visit from him two weekends ago.

The linebacker also had offers from UCLA, California, and Notre Dame among others. He's ranked as the No. 21 recruit at his position and is the No. 6 recruit in the Oregon according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. USC did lose a defensive tackle in Tuli Letuligasenoa to Washington, but Winson's commitment puts USC back at No. 2 in the Pac-12 recruiting rankings for now.

Here are some of his highlights:
