It looks like the race for five-star running back Zamir White (6-foot-1, 220 pounds, Laurinburg, NC) is really heating up ahead of his scheduled commitment on June 27.
In a DawgNation interview, White's high school Richard Bailey reveal that North Carolina has "really ascended now to the top of the list". The Tar Heels' main competition comes from Georgia, who has been the long-term favorite to land the five-star recruit.

The competition from North Carolina comes after White took two visits to Chapel Hill in recent weeks. Bailey also mentioned in the interview that staying close to home is something that has started to resonate with White in recent weeks, and it could become a factor in White's decision.
Five schools have long been standing out for White: Georgia, North Carolina, Ohio State, Alabama, and Clemson. It is likely that White is choosing between Georgia, North Carolina, and Alabama at this point.
White is ranked as a five-star and the No. 1 running back in the 2018 recruiting class by the 247Sports Composite.
