Epps had previously been committed to Alabama before reversing that decision several months ago. Epps mentioned that he was also considering schools like Texas A&M, Michigan, Ohio State, and Florida State before he eventually made his decision on Tuesday.
With the commitment, Texas now has 17 recruits as a part of their 2018 class. The Longhorns have had a string of commitments in recent weeks, and they now rank as the No. 2 class in recruiting according to 247Sports.
Epps is ranked as the No. 7 tight end in this year's class.
