Nick Saban's Morning Routine Includes Way Too Much Sugar

Appearing on The Pat McAfee Show in his weekly appearance, Alabama Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban explained his penchant for routine by way of his love for Little Debbie cookies.

"I try to prepare with a certain routine every day," Saban began. "I get up every day, I let the dog out, have a cup of coffee and I get two Little Debbie cookies, that's how I start."

"Routine sort of helps people stay in the moment... and that's what I try to get our players to focus on," Saban continued.

Shoot, Little Debbie cookies are perfectly fine, but hearing the adoration the greatest college football coach of all time has for them is certainly surprising.

"Dude hammers Little Debbie's," Boston Connor, a member of the show, tweeted.

Alabama has had quite the season. They started with a win over Middle Tennessee, then fell at home 34-24 to the Texas Longhorns. Since then, though, they've been undefeated, beating South Florida, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Texas A&M, Arkansas, Tennessee, LSU, and most recently, Kentucky.

That stint included incumbent starting quarterback Jalen Milroe getting benched against South Florida. In his place, Tyler Buchner threw for 34 yards, completing five of 14 passes, and Ty Simpson also got some runs, completing five of nine passes for 73 yards. After that, the team handed the reins back over to Milroe. Last week against Kentucky, he had three passing touchdowns.

They're ranked No. 8 in the College Football Playoff rankings and No. 8 in the AP Top 25.

They'll play Chattanooga, Auburn, and Georgia to round out the year. The game against Chattanooga comes this week in Week 12, while the matchup with Georgia will be the SEC Championship game on December 2.
