Nick Saban has had an incredible run at Alabama and while a lot of that has come down to his recruiting and coaching abilities, it's also because he's had some great assistants. While at ESPN for the annual SEC "Car Wash", Saban was asked about his best assistants and if he could bring any of them back to become his head coach —- he was named the athletic director in this hypothetical instance —- named quite a few good coaches.

Saban specifically named current Georgia head coach Kirby Smart, current Florida State head coach Jimbo Fisher, current Florida head coach Jim McElwain and Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett as guys he would want on his staff. It's probably not a coincidence all of those former assistants have high-profile head coaching jobs right now because it sounds like if Saban could have done anything to keep them, he would have.
