Nick Saban speaks out on departed offensive coordinator Brian Daboll

Here's what Saban had to say.

Brian Daboll is no longer the offensive coordinator at Alabama but, in the one season in which he occupied the role, the Crimson Tide won a national title. In short, things went well.

Still, there has been some buzz that Daboll wasn't always thrilled with things in Tuscaloosa and, in the end, he chose to flee in favor of an offensive coordinator position at the NFL level. With that in mind, Marq Burnett of SEC Country brings word from Nick Saban, who addressed Daboll's departure with the following sentiment.

"Brian did a great job for us. We're happy for him. He obviously ended up a lot better off for having come to our place — being a coordinator for a year, doing a great job, and now he has an opportunity to be a coordinator in the NFL. We're happy for him and his family."

Obviously, there is no interest from Saban in litigating the loss of Daboll to the Bills and this is a positive quote from the legendary head coach. It remains to be seen as to whether Mike Locksley and company can replicate the success on the offensive side of the ball but, in the end, it appears that all parties benefited and are just fine parting ways at this time.
