Paul Finebaum believes he knows who Alabama players support to replace Brian Daboll

Will it end up happening?

Alabama is searching for yet another offensive coordinator after Brian Daboll bolted after one season for the NFL. Nick Saban has already commented on the departure and now Paul Finebaum is giving his two cents. He believes that Alabama should promote someone from within as he told WJOX 94.5 FM program The Opening Drive on his weekly Monday appearance.

"It looks like the team is behind Mike Locksley, if I'm reading this correctly from a couple hundred miles away. You have to weigh that very seriously, but you also have to remember who is making this decision.

"You have to make this (hire) comfortable with the two quarterbacks," he said. "In the one game we saw last season with Sarkisian, it didn't work. I think Daboll had a good feel for Jalen Hurts. I still don't think he got the most out of Jalen Hurts."

Locksley was brought on to the team back in 2016 as an offensive analyst and ended up getting a promotion to receivers coach and co-offensive coordinator. It would seem to be a no-brainer to just give him the reins of the offense and let him go, but Nick Saban doesn't always do things by the book so we will have to wait and see.
