Marquis Robinson Commits to Auburn University
The Tigers were strong favorites to sign Robinson, but they still had plenty of competition. Alabama, Florida State, Georgia, Miami, Ohio State, OIe Miss, and Tennessee are just some of the programs that reached out to the star defensive lineman.
Auburn’s defensive assistant, Rodney Garner, deserves a lot of credit for his work. He personally built a relationship with Robinson and fellow lineman recruit Tobechi Okoli to bring them to The Plains.
Marquis Robinson Highlights
It’s a given that Robinson’s size stands out on his highlight tape. That doesn’t mean he is a one-dimensional player, however. His athleticism is excellent, and he uses his strength to get by any blocker who dares to guard him.
Robinson may not crack Auburn’s starting lineup immediately, but he will get his chances.
Auburn linemen have reached the NFL in the past, and if Robinson is seasoned correctly, he could hear his name called by Roger Goodell in a few seasons.
Marquis Robinson won’t be a man amongst boys when he reaches the Division I level, but his frame and athletic capabilities should put him in a great position to succeed in the future.
Under a new regime, Auburn needs all the help it can get.
