Florida's top player in Antonio Callaway has made quite a few big mistakes during the course of his playing days in Gainesville. He was cited for marijuana possession back in May while riding with a 40-year old Gainesville man who has a track record of criminal behavior and was involved in a sexual assault case that prompted a suspension for the spring semester. That was all before the latest incident which reportedly involved a misuse of financial aid funds and caused his indefinite suspension.

McElwain was asked on Monday if Callaway was running out of chances to get his act together and he answered pretty candidly.
"Absolutely," McElwain said. "The one thing I will do is I'll continue to help. I'll continue to be there. I'll continue to support. But obviously the consequences, you make your own bed, man."
He also mentioned that Callaway had seemed to be making taking steps forward after his previous mishaps and he's incredibly disappointed about this latest incident.
"I'm telling you, man, when you talk about the disappointment ... I saw these strides, right, and then sometimes you take a step back," McElwain said. "Yet I'm sure he's not the only one that's done that, and yet it's my responsibility to keep teaching."
McElwain has shown previously that he will stick with a kid for as long as it takes to get him right and that's why so many recruits have gravitated toward him in the last couple classes. Hopefully it doesn't come back to bite him though as several analysts and fans are already getting ticked off with Callaway and McElwain for allowing him to stay on the team after three major incidents like that.
Callaway pretty much is only still on the roster because of his supreme talent and potential All-American status by the end of the year. He has to know that and most fans know that so if another incident should arise that puts the school or the team in a negative light and it's because of the receiver, he's going to have to be kicked off the team. Coach McElwain is surely aware of that and it will be interesting to see how far he goes to get Callaway in a safe space and isolate him from any potentially dangerous scenarios.
