Eight undeclared prospects from the 2018 national recruiting cycle witnessed the Gators' 26-20 win over Tennessee on Saturday at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, which concluded with a 63-yard Hail Mary touchdown as time expired.
Among them was four-star linebacker Richard Jibunor, who currently has the Gators listed as a favorite among Auburn and Tennessee. Jibunor told GatorBait.net that he was impressed by the atmosphere of the Swamp, especially considering the game took place just days after Hurricane Irma waged its way through Gainesville.
"It was crazy," Jibunor said. "It was good to see that especially on the last play. Coach told me he was happy to see the crowd even after a big hurricane. I thought the crowd was awesome and I definitely will be back soon."
Jibunor currently ranks as the No. 10 athlete in the class of 2018 according to Scout and he said he was pretty lucky to be in The Swamp for a game like he saw.
"I was lucky to be here for a very good game," he said. "It was a very good game to see how good they can play. I was impressed with it and the environment was awesome. I heard a lot about Florida and have read a lot about them. It was nice to see how pretty the place and how the campus and everything is."
The Georgia native also met with Florida linebackers coach Tim Skipper — who officially extended a scholarship offer in the spring — and defensive coordinator Randy Shannon, both of whom have been in direct contact with Jibunor throughout his recruitment during his visit.
"They have been trying to get me down for a long time now and they were happy and impressed to have me down for a visit," said the four-star 2018 prospect. "They are excited about me and want me to commit. I liked them."
