Florida has been looking for a new head coach since firing Jim McElwain and it sounds like they might be pretty close to getting their new coach. Football Scoop is reporting that Florida "is advancing discussions" right now.
However, that seems to be the extent of the report for now. We will of course keep you updated should any more developments occur.
Kelly has been the most reported on candidate for the Florida job as most people believe he can fix their offensive woes with his schemes. He would also have the chance to recruit four and five-star recruits in a fertile recruiting land rather than try to convince three-star guys to go out to the West Coast and play.
The former Oregon head coach also went 46-7 in his four seasons there and never lose more than one game in conference play while also leading the team to the BCS National Championship Game in 2010.
