With win over LSU, Florida did something no other SEC East team could

Florida > all other SEC East teams.

Florida absolutely needed a win against LSU if it wanted to get to the SEC Championship Game for the second year in a row. With the win over the Tigers the Gators became the first team in the division to do this:

Florida was supposed to play LSU at home until Hurricane Matthew forced the teams to reschedule so that's why the Gators never ended up with a home game against an SEC West opponent. It wasn't pretty, but the Gators forced two crucial turnovers and got a goal line stand to win the game 16-10. To Atlanta they go!
