Nation's No. 3 RB James Cook leaves the door open for a potential flip from Georgia

This is going to get fun, isn't it?

James Cook is one of the most highly recruited running backs in the country for the class of 2018. He's the younger brother of Dalvin Cook and he has already taken a surprise visit to Florida State despite being committed to Georgia since October after decommitting from Florida State after a year of being committed to the Seminoles.

Now, McGahee is reporting that Cook will decide between Florida State and Georgia despite his commitment to the Bulldogs right now. He took the visit to give the new staff another shot at him to see if he would like them and to just check it out.

"They asked me if I wanted to take an official to see if I could get back liking it," Cook said.

"I just wanted to give them the opportunity to redeem themselves and check it out. We'll see on signing day. It was a great visit."

Cook is planning on signing during the early period, but will not give any insight into his decision.

Cook plays at Miami Central so that Lockette hire could be a key ingredient in yet another flip. He was Dalvin's coach when he played at the high school so he has familiarity with the family and that could play a big role in a potential flipping of the younger Cook.

It wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility just because of how recruiting works and because Georgia already has a top-tier running back committed in Zamir White.

The 5-foot-11, 181-pound Cook is ranked as the No. 3 running back in the country, the No. 6 recruit in the state of Florida and the No. 18 overall recruit in the country according to Rivals. He also has offers from Alabama, Auburn, Miami, Michigan, LSU, Penn State and USC among plenty of others.
