Top Alabama coordinator reportedly interviewing for vacant head coaching position

He's got interest from Mississippi State and Tennessee.

According to Tide Sports, Alabama defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt is interviewing for the open Mississippi State head coaching job.

The move comes after Dan Mullen jumped ship to the University of Florida on Sunday.

Pruitt is in his second year with Alabama, where he's led two top-2 ranked defenses.

Pruitt started his college coaching career with Alabama in 2007 before jumping around with Georgia and Florida State, and eventually returning to the Tide in 2016.

Pruitt has won three national championships, two with Alabama and one with Florida State.

According to the report, he is also a candidate for the Tennessee job. He is just the latest in the Nick Saban coaching tree to be considered for a head coaching job.
